The Kano State Government has apologised to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu over the allegation of his involvement in the ongoing emirship tussle in the state.
Daily Trust reported that the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, had accused the NSA of facilitating the return of the dethroned 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, to the state.
Ribadu had denied his involvement in the case, threatening legal action against the deputy governor.
But Gwarzo retracted his accusation while briefing journalists at the Government House on Sunday and apologised to Ribadu, saying the government was deeply misled.
He said, “We investigated further and found out that we were deeply misled and on this note, on behalf of the State Government, we wish to apologise to the NSA.”
