4 killed, others injured in Ogun road crash

Four persons died on Sunday while four others sustained injuries in a road crash along Sagamu – Ikorodu route in Ogun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred at about 12:40pm, involving a Toyota Sienna marked LND945EL and a bus with registration number AKD232XV.

The Spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta.

Okpe said eight persons were involved in road accident out which four died including a female infant, while four others sustained injuries.

She explained that the injured victims have taken to Dasochris Hospital, Gbaga, Ogijo, while family took custody of the corpses.

“The suspected causes of the crash were speeding and wrongful overtaking which led to rear collision of the two vehicles,” Okpe said.

She quoted the Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, to have sympathized with the family of the crash victims and advised motorists to desist from speeding and give total attention to driving.

Okpe further quoted the Sector Commander to have urged motorists to ensure road markings on overtaking are obeyed.
