The Gomo of Karmo Sabo in Abuja, Malam Umar Gani, has expressed anger over plans by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to relocate the market in his community to another community, Old Karmo.
Malam Gani was reacting to a 24-hour quit notice given by FCTA to traders and other owners of structures in the market on Monday.
He said, “We consider relocating our market to another community as unfair. This could lead to a misunderstanding, and if care is not taken, turn to violence.
“If the issue is over a road passage, as they want us to believe, let the market be shifted or relocated to somewhere else within our district. We have a lot of undeveloped lands to offer to them.’’
