A baby girl was buried alive in Ashav Kusuv forest in Buruku Local Government Area of Benúe State.
Residents told our correspondent that the baby girl was found by hunters.
They said the hunters who went on expedition exhumed the baby from the shallow grave and took her to the village hospital for medical attention.
The residents said at the time of filing this report, that the baby was stable and still receiving treatment at a hospital in Ashav Kusuv community of Buruku LGA.

Council Chairman of Buruku LGA, Agber Iorkyan, confirmed the incident, adding however that the baby was found abandoned in the forest.
Iorkyan told journalists in Makurdi that, “Hunters actually found a baby abandoned in the forest. The baby is now receiving treatment. I would soon go there to find out who owns the baby and reason for the action.”
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene, however did not respond to calls or message put through her telephone for confirmation of the incident.
