2024 hajji: 2 pregnant women dropped from Nasarawa list

Two pregnant women have been delisted from the official list of 1, 760 intending pilgrims that would travel from Nasarawa State to perform this year’s 2024 Hajj ritual in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ahaji Idris Ahmed-Al-Makura, revealed this in an interview with journalists in Lafia, the state capital.

According to the Executive Secretary, the two women were dropped from the list of 1, 760 intending pilgrims from the state due to the new rules governing the exercise.

He said they were doing it to put their house in order to avoid embarrassment, adding that if any pregnant woman is caught in the Holy Land, the punishment is N10 million or three months imprisonment.

He appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for his continued support to the board, assuring to give priority to welfare of the intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth exercise.
