National Coordinator of the programme, Dr Adebobola Bashorun, stated that in addition to putting in place several response mechanisms aimed at reducing the impact of HIV and AIDS and ensuring that people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Nigeria receive quality services.

Bashorun in a statement made available to our correspondent said NASCP undertook monitoring and supportive supervisory visits to HIV service delivery points across 15 states and the FCT to ensure sustainable systems strengthening.

“Worthy of note, as well as in extension of profound gratitude, is the Global Fund’s unrelenting support to state governments’ oversight of integrated HIV and Tuberculosis programs across the 36 states of the country.

“This was through donations of vehicles and some medical equipment that were officially handed over to the Federal Government and unveiled by the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Tunji Alausa.”

It would be recalled that the Global Fund through the Family Health International (FHI 360) recently in Lagos handed over 72 Toyota Hilux vehicles and laboratory diagnostic equipment procured through a Global Fund Grant to the federal government in her fight against HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis.
