The president of Flight Sports Limited, sponsors of Flight football club of Gboko, Mr. Solomon Andiir, has said his interest in youth empowerment is the reason he set up the Nationwide League One side.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the Chairman of Buruku Local Government Football Association and member of the Benue State Football Association (BSFA), said apart from the football club, he is on the verge of unveiling other sports clubs.
He observed that youths who are talented in sports abound in Nigeria but there are hardly enough opportunities for them to showcase their talents.
He said it was the irresistible urge to give such youths the platform to exhibit their God given talents that pushed him to set up the football club and now the other clubs he said will be launched in no distant future.

“I floated Flight Football Club to empower the youths by giving them a viable platform to pursue their dream in professional football. I am happy that the club has impacted positively on the lives of the youths in Benue State and beyond.
“At the moment, we are in the third division of the Nigerian football league but our aspiration is to get promoted to the National League and ultimately the premier league.
“Having recorded so much success within a short period of time, I am encouraged to set up other sports clubs like tennis, volleyball and basketball. Before long, we are going to unveil these clubs.
“Though the project is capital intensive, I am confident that God will provide the resources for me to empower the youths through sports which is a veritable tool for self emancipation and development,” said Andiir who is also a trained referee and football coach.
