Over 200 cows rustled in Kaduna

Over 200 cows were on Sunday rustled at Unguwar Jibo, near Katari village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

A resident, Kabiru Yahaya, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Tuesday, said the incident happened around 5pm when bandits wielding sophisticated weapons attacked a Fulani camp.

Yahaya said that one herder sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to the hospital in Katari.

In a related development, Yahaya said two bandits were on Saturday shot dead during exchange of gunshots with troops in their camp in neigbouring Nasarawa Azzara village.

He explained that, “The soldiers came under fire on Saturday during a raid on the bandits’ camp. There was an exchange of gunfire in which two bandits were killed.”

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incidents as calls and a text message sent to him were not replied.
