Operatives of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the police have arrested 31 robbery suspects in black spots within the Yaba area.
City & Crime learnt that the suspects were arrested at about 10pm when the operatives, working with members of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, swooped on the area. Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the report, said the raid was sequel to complaints from members of the public about the activities of criminals who waylaid passersby and robbed them of their belongings.

He explained that, “Forty suspects were arrested during the operation, but nine were released to their family members after a thorough screening of all the suspects at the RRS headquarters, Alausa, by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.”
