Griot Studios is set to premiere “Up NEPA!” a documentary shedding light on Nigeria’s electricity challenges.

Directed by renowned filmmaker Ishaya Bako, the film explores the nation’s enduring power supply issues and the complex processes of electricity generation, transmission and distribution.

The documentary also tackles challenges like unreliable power supply and its effect on the lives of Nigerians and the economy, along with the government’s attempts at reforming the sector.

Bako expressed gratitude over the film’s release, saying, “I am grateful to be able to share this film with an audience; it’s been many years in the making. I am particularly grateful to our key partners, the MacArthur Foundation, for their support in producing the film, and also to our hardworking team at Griot Studios who have persevered to ensure this project becomes a reality.”

‘Up NEPA!’ features interviews with ordinary Nigerians and industry experts, including cold store owners, plastics manufacturers, healthcare workers, and professionals such as Patrick Okigbo and Bart Nnaji. There will also be special appearances by Kate Henshaw and Jude (MI) Abaga.
