The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Kano Branch has revealed that the letter written by Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to industrial companies threatening to disconnect them from 3rd May, 2024, poses a huge threat to the nation’s economy as well as an unfortunate move that will render thousands jobless.
This was contained in a statement obtained by Daily Trust which was jointly signed by Chairman, Bompai/Jigawa, Alhaji Mohammed Bello I Umar, and Chairman, Shaafa/Chalawa, Alhaji Nura S Madugu.
According to the statement, KEDCO had written to MAN to withdraw their earlier letter sent to KEDCO rejecting the recent electricity tariff hike or disconnect them from Friday, 3rd May, 2024.

The statement described the development as an unfortunate one that will definitely lead to the closure of many factories.
KEDCO’S spokesperson Malam Sani Bala Sani could not be reached as calls placed to his mobile lines were not answered.
