The Kwara State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of three suspected cultists, Suleiman Ismail, Mamud Ibrahim and Mudashir Saeed, connected with a deadly clash between two rival cult groups on Tuesday in which one person was killed and two buildings burnt in Budo-Oke, Eiyenkori area of Asa LGA.
The command’s spokesman, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi (DSP), in a statement on Wednesday, said, “On 30th April, 2024, at about 0130 hours an altercation erupted between two suspected cultists identified as Adams Isah (Number One) and Rasaq Olorunwa, both 28 years old.
“The altercation escalated, resulting in Rasaq Olorunwa stabbing Adams Isah in the chest with a knife and he was rushed to the general hospital in Ilorin and was pronounced dead on arrival by a medical doctor. The corpse has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

“Following the incident, suspected members of the cult group of the victim became violent, disturbing the peace of the public in the bid to avenge the death of their leader. The police swiftly responded and apprehended three suspects at the scene of the crime.”
