MFM of Lagos yesterday morning recorded back to back victories as they defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 in their rescheduled week 23 match played at the Agege Township stadium.
It will be recalled that a week ago, MFM recorded their first away win of the season when they defeated FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 in Nnewi.
Chijioke Akuneto scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute to hand the host the maximum points.
However, it wasn’t a stroll in the park for the ‘Olukoya boys’ as El-Kanemi Warriors responded to the game brightly, with Michael Ohanu causing MFM lots of trouble.
On one occasion, the former Kwara United man teed up Anthonio Dasusa, whose shot from outside the box went wide in the first 10 minute.
MFM tried to double their lead in the first half to no avail as Nojeem Akinyemi’s efforts on two occasions were aborted.
The Olukoya Boys still occupy the 11th spot on the log with 33 points from 24 games as the NPFL heads for the 2018 World Cup break.
