The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has handed over 6,240 dynamites intercepted on the Yauri-Jega road to the Department of State Services (DSS).
The state’s Controller of Customs, Iheanacho Ernest Ojike, yesterday, told newsmen that the dynamites were intercepted by the joint border patrol team of customs, army, police, immigration and the DSS while on intelligence-based patrol.

He said a joint examination was conducted in the presence of relevant units of the customs and police, and that the suspected items were found to contain 40 cartons and sacks totalling 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives.
He added that two suspects, Alhaji Garba Jega and Abdullahi Aliyu, were arrested and had since been charged to court and remanded.
