Men of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, with recruitment forms for a cult group in a hotel in Kwara State.
The arrest, it was gathered, came on the heels of a clampdown on hoodlums following recent cult killings in Ilọrin in which the police said over 28 suspects were arrested.
The Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, who confirmed the student’s arrest, said, “We have also arrested six more suspects, among who is a boy who came all the way from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.
“Based on intelligence, he was nabbed in his hotel room very early in the morning and he confessed to the crime.

“The other issue is that he even had quite a large number of application and enrollment forms for would-be cultists. We suspect he came for both recruitment and operation. We are still on the case.”
