The victims of a windstorm which wreaked havoc in Kwaita village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT have appealed to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to come to their aid.
The victims, who spoke with our reporter on Wednesday, said the windstorm had displaced most of them.
A victim, Malam Haruna Ishaku, whose house was affected, said he was forced to relocate to a neighbour’s house with his family, lamenting that feeding his family was now very difficult.
He said, “The grains I stored in my house were destroyed by the windstorm. My neighbour has been the one feeding me and my family.”

Another victim, Shuaibu Ahmed, lamented that, “Nobody from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) or from the area council has paid a visit to see things for themselves.”
A civil servant, Ishaya Barnabas, whose house was also affected, appealed to Mr Wike and the Member of Abuja South Federal Constituency, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, to come to their aid.
He expressed displeasure over the non-visitation of the council’s Chairman, Danladi Chiya, to sympathise with them.
