X formerly known as Twitter was down worldwide for several hours on Tuesday with users across the globe furious that they could not gain access via their browsers or apps.
The popular social network owned by billionaire, Elon Musk, encountered issues at 9.45 AM, causing huge problems in the US, the UK, the rest of Europe, Asia and some African countries, including Nigeria.
Users complained that their feed was failing to load correctly, preventing them from indulging in the content on their ‘for you’ and ‘following’ pages, while others were dealing with a blank screen.
The extent of the problem was not known as at the time of filing this report; however, DownDetector, a site renowned for monitoring online outages, has claimed that the magnitude of the glitch is quite significant.
