Yobe buries 3 persons allegedly killed by soldiers

The remains of three persons, who were allegedly killed by soldiers in Gashu’a, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, were buried yesterday amidst tears and anguish.

Emir of Bade, Alh. Abubakar Umar Suleiman, Chairman of Bade Local Government Council, and Hon. Ibrahim Babagana were among the dignitaries who attended the funeral prayer for the victims.

The tragic killing of the 3 civilians occurred Sunday after soldiers allegedly opened fire on protesters who were expressing their anger over the reckless conduct of troops in the town that led to a fatal accident involving their patrol vehicle and a tricycle.

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has called for calm and promised to pay the medical bills of the 12 injured persons.
