The All progressive Congress (APC) has set up a Reconciliation Committee with a mandate of reconciling aggrieved members of the party who expressed disappointment over the outcome of the primary election of the party.

This is even as the party dismissed the alleged plan by the party to substitute its flagbearer, Dr. Tony Nwoye early next month.

The reconciliation move, Daily trust learnt, is coming on the heels of disenchantment and threats of anti-party activities over the emergence of Nwoye as the party’s governorship candidate.

Nwoye had beat his rivals including Senator Andy Uba, Engr. Barth Nwibe, George Muoghalu, Patrick Nwike, among others in a keenly contested party primary in Awka, adjudged to be one of the most credible elections ever conducted by the party.

Inaugurating the committee at the party secretariat in Awka, the state Chairman, Barr. Emeka Ibeh noted that the reconciliation exercise was intended to carry everybody along in the coming APC government to be heralded by the governorship campaign slated to kick off next week.

"The mandate of the committee is to reach out to aggrieved aspirants who may have natural misgivings on the outcome of the primary election which threw up Nwoye as the candidate for the November 18, 2017 election." he said.

Ibe who maintained that there is no crises in the party, expressed optimism that the APC will capture Anambra state government house come March 8, 2018.

The Committee, headed by the running mate to APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Dozie Ikedife Jnr, has Tony One-Week Muonagor as Secretary, Chief Chidi Ebede, John Bosco Onunkwo, George Ozodinobi, Tony Akaenyi, Chibuzor Obiakor, Chief Uzoma Onwuachu, and Osy Ezenwa.

Other members of the committee include, Barrister Hyacinth Nweke, Hon. Celestine Ughamadu, Calista Nwachukwu, Ike Ekwensi and Alex Ekemezie.

In his acceptance speech, the Reconciliation Committee chairman, Hon. Ikedife Jnr, appreciated the leadership of the party for finding them worthy to serve, pledging to face the task with every seriousness it deserves.
