Oba Julius Ajayi Omomo, a foremost monarch in Ondo state, is dead.
Omomo, who is the Olojoda of Oda kingdom in Akure South Local Government Area of the state, joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday.
He was installed as monarch of the town on May 30, 2023.
Oba Omomo’s coronation came after the demise of the previous traditional ruler, who died after a brief illness.

A family member, Ade Adelakun, who confirmed the death of Oba Omomo, described him as a humble, decent, and down-to-earth monarch.
Adelakun described the few months’ reign of the monarch as beneficial, saying the town also witnessed development, especially peace within the town.
He said the late monarch cared for his subjects as well as the unity and progress of the state, describing his few years of reign as remarkably eventful.
The monarch passed on at the age of 83 years.
