A first-class Lagos monarch, the Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Adelaja Agbabiaka, has died.
Oba Agbabiaka died after attending the Eid-el-Fitri prayers. He was 64.
The chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, who confirmed the monarch’s death said, “I have the instruction of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to formally announce the passing of the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III, today; 10th April, 2024.”
He was buried yesterday at his palace in accordance with Islamic rites.

Daily Trust learnt that the monarch would have been 20 years on the throne in July 2024.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, while mourning the passing of the paramount ruler, also commiserated with the people of Isolo and the family of the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described the passage of the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, as a great loss to the traditional institution and Lagos State as a whole.
He said the late traditional ruler, during his lifetime, rendered selfless service to the people of Isolo and Lagos State.
