The Chief Imam of Jos, Sheik Lawal Adam, has admonished Muslims across the world to pray for the country amid economic hardship and security challenges.
The imam, who made the call during his sermon at the Eid ground in Jos, the state capital, emphasised the need for all Nigerians to imbibe the culture of prayers and dedication to the service of the land.
He said: “It is always paramount to pray for leaders at all levels for guidance to discharge their responsibilities rather than unnecessary condemnation that could not help the country. It is a well-known fact that the country is in serious trouble and therefore, it is good to pray for divine intervention.”
The imam also called on residents of the state to pray for Governor Caleb Mutfwang and his cabinet members to discharge their responsibilities with justice and fairness.
He advised Muslims and Christians to embrace peace, unity, and love for one another irrespective of their political or religious beliefs.
