How men who stole iPhone 13 pro from Abuja mosque were nabbed in a hotel

Detectives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command have arrested five suspects for allegedly stealing an iPhone 13 pro at Al-Nur mosque, Wuse II, Abuja.

The FCT police commissioner CP Benneth Igweh, disclosed while parading the suspects at the command in Abuja, on Monday.

He said the suspects were arrested after one Muhammed Bello, who resides at Hampton Apartment, Maitama Abuja, at about 6:15 am on Sunday, reported at Wuse police division that his iphone 13 was stolen at a mosque where he went to observe Ramadan night prayers.

He said it was on the receipt of the complaints that the police detectives swung into action to track the phone, which he said the phone was activated with location showing at Djomes Suites No. 28Agadez street, Wuse II Abuja.

According to him, the police detectives and surveillance team cordoned the premises with the cooperation of the management of the suite, which he said the suspects were arrested for being in possession of the iphone 13 pro.

“And it was during the search by the detectives in two rooms the suspects were arrested with the stolen iphone 13 pro and 23 other assorted phones,” he said.

He gave the names of the suspects as Ibrahim Adamu, Muhammed Isah, Abdul Hussain, Abdulgafar Sidi Mukhtar and Muhammed Ya’u, which he said they hailed from Kano state.

The CP, however, said that a Mercedes Benz C300 black without registration, plasma television as well as microwave machine were also recovered from the suspects.

He said the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
