1 killed after football match turns bloody in Edo

A man was killed after a friendly football match on March 2, 2024, between Ugbogiri and Ugonoba communities in Ikpoba Okha LGA of Edo State turned bloody.

The spokesperson of the state’s police command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, explained that the DPO of Okhuaye, received a report that during a friendly match between Ugbogiri and Ugonoba communities a fight started which led to the death of a young man.

While assuring that effort was on to arrest the suspected killers, he said security was in place in the areas to prevent further attacks.
