Saudi King Salman distributes foodstuffs in Kano

King Salman ibn AbdulAziz of Saudi Arabia’s charity organization, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has distributed food items as Ramadan relief materials to more than 2,000 households mostly People with Disabilities (PWDs) in eight local government areas of Kano State.

Abdulrahman ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Zaben, the team leader of the foundation, said the programme is aimed at supporting family members and the less privileged in society during the holy month of Ramadan every year to alleviate the hardships and suffering people are facing.

He added that the programme is implemented in Nigeria by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The food items distributed included 25kg bags of beans, 25kg  bags of rice, and 4kg of Masavita among others.

Speaking at the event, Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, commended the centre for remembering the people of Kano in the holy month of Ramadan.

Also speaking, the Director, Special Duties of NEMA, Fatima Kashim, who represented the director general of the agency, Zubaida Umar, appreciated the centre for reaching out to those in need of intervention.

The deputy governor, DG NEMA and the representative of the King Salman Humanitarian Relief Center tasked the beneficiaries to make judicious of the items to bring succour to their families.
