The Kano State government says it has received a total of 195 trucks loads of assorted grains from the Federal Government for onward distribution across the 44 Local Government Areas of the State.
The gesture is part of the palliative handed out by the Federal Government to alleviate suffering, especially as Muslim faithful across the country are observing fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
At a press briefing on Sunday, Sunusi Bature Dawakin, spokesperson of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, said, “The state has also received from the federal government a total of 100 trucks of 25kg rice, 44 trucks of Sorghum, 14 trucks of Millet, 41 trucks of Maize which will be distributed across the 484 wards in the 44 local government areas of the state within the week.”
