The Chartered Institute of Development and Social Studies (CIDSS), a multi-disciplinary institute that focuses on the core issues of socio-economic development and social cohesion, has called on the Federal Government to do all it can to tackle the rising rate of poverty in the nation, saying it was ready to collaborate and bring it to the barest minimum.
In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Public Relations, Godwin Okoko, the institute also vowed support to the government in tackling the high rate of insecurity because people were living in fear due to the destruction of lives and property.
CIDSS also said that there was an ongoing decline in the educational system in Nigeria and that this was majorly as a result of corruption and irresponsible leadership in government, thereby leading to more than half of the women in Nigeria being unable to read and write.
