Ramadan: AA Zaura calls for tolerance, peaceful coexistence among Nigerians

As the Ramadan fasting continues, a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress(APC) and candidate for Kano Central Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections, Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura, popularly known as AA Zaura, has called for tolerance and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians irrespective of tribal, political and religious divides.

The business mogul , who made the call in a chat with newsmen in Abuja, urged Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to demonstrate patriotism, love for one another and sacrifice for the less privileged around them in order promote social harmony and peace.

According to him, as Nigerians grapple with hunger, inflation, insecurity and other challenges, “there is need for them to be their brothers’ keepers by embracing and emphasizing what unify us as nation with cultural diversity.”

He said the Ramadan season was a period to amplify the virtues of love, selflessness, tolerance and empathy for others, especially the less privileged.

“My message to the Muslims, and even to my Christian brothers is for them to embrace the message of Ramadan, because Ramadan teaches us tolerance, love, unity and ushers in peace.

“You can see that during Ramadan, nobody wants to eat alone; everybody wants to eat with families and friends, and people like to bring out what they have and share with others.

“This is the attitude and lifestyle we need to survive as a nation, especially in these trying times of general economic hardship confronting everyone, especially ordinary Nigerians,” he said .

The Philanthropist added that “if you are selling product in the market, like foodstuff or whatever business it is, you are expected to reduce your price, not to exploit people.

“This is the month that you should bring down price, make a little profit and sell a cheaper to the people.”

Zaura noted that, although Nigerians were facing economic challenges, occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal and unprecedented erosion of the naira’s value to the US Dollars, the President Bola Tinubu administration was working tirelessly to stabilize the economy and as well nip other challenges confronting the nation.

He therefore called on Nigerians to remain steadfast, keep hope alive and support the ‘renewed hope’ mantra of the Tinubu’s administration.

“So I call on the general public to embrace peace, love one another, and to pray for the nation, pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed.

“Let us pray for peace in Nigeria, we want to live in peace, we want peace in every part of Nigeria, in every region,” he said.
