The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Paul Okpe, has disclosed that the corps arrested 2,147 motorists for traffic violations in January. He said the offenders were arraigned before a mobile court and fined.
He explained that the offenders were arrested in New Benin, Olokun, Sapele Road, Tollgate, Auchi, Ekpoma, among other areas across the state.

Okpe listed the offences committed by the violators to include dangerous driving, overloading, route violation, over-speeding, use of phone, seatbelt violation and driving without fire extinguisher.
