The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment towards improving girl child education in the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said this at a 2-day Kano Education Summit 2024. He was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Umar Doguwa.
The summit with the theme: “Towards Strengthening Retention and Completion of Girl’s Education” was organized by Adolescent Health and Information Projects (AHIP) founded by Christian Aid and other developmental partners.
He added that the government has provided 30 trailer loads of learning materials and 70 shuttle buses to improve education in the state.

According to Doguwa, the state is planning to constitute a state council on education, review existing policies of education, the data bank on education, reform school feeding, and establish special education schools among others to improve the education sector in the state.
