The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) says it has so far registered 2.5 million businesses in the country as it redoubles efforts to ensure that business owners operating across the 36 states of the federation are fully registered.
The Registrar General of the commission, Hussaini Magaji, made the disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday at a one-day leadership retreat for Heads of Departments and State Offices heads.
According to him, “The meeting is the first management is holding with heads of state offices with the matching order to go and generate data of all businesses taking place in the states as the CAC will no longer condone businesses operating without registration
“In line with the president’s mandate to provide 50 million jobs for Nigerians, the CAC has so far registered 2.5 million businesses and we are also on course to meet our revenue target of N120 billion this year.

On the essence of the retreat, the RG said the commission is currently experiencing a paradigm shift in its operations to provide quality services to customers and also make business registration seamless for MSMEs
He however stated that the state coordinators must, as a matter of urgency, ensure that the commission gathers all the data of business operators across the 36 states of the federation.
