Minster of State of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has assured Corps members deployed to the FCT that their welfare remains utmost priority of the administration within the availability of resources at their disposal.
She stated this during the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of prospective corps members for the 2024 Batch A Stream 1 Corps members deployed to the FCT for the orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Kubwa, Abuja on Tuesday.
The FCT Minister of State was represented by the Mandate Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, Honourable Ibrahim Aminu, said, “the FCT administration is determined to give the NYSC the maximum support it deserves in recognition of the scheme’s role as an active partner in the development of the Federal Capital Territory.”
She tasked the Corps members to use to scheme to contribute to the development of the host communities.

“Here in FCT, our teeming youths and women are in dare need of your support, I believe you will help them develop their various talents for productive creativity,” she said.
On her part, the NYSC FCT Coordinator, Mrs, Winifred Shokpeka, announced that a total number of 3891 Corps members were duly registered for the orientation course, comprising of 1481 male and 2510 females respectively.
She also warned the prospective Corps members to desist from negative behavior such as drug abuse and other anti-social activities in and outside the camp.
Shokpeka charged them to comply diligently with the camp activities and submit to the discipline entrenched by the scheme’s roles and regulations.
