Nigeria in ICU, needs urgent resuscitation – Tambuwal

The former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, says Nigeria is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) seeking urgent resuscitation.
Speaking at his Sokoto residence on Saturday, he said it was a collective duty to save the life of the country.
Asked about the state of the nation, Tambuwal said, “I have been on sabbatical not to talk to the press. I deliberately chose to remain silent for nine months on the state of the Nigerian nation.

He said, “My quiet mood is my state of mind. I simply chose not to speak. When you are involved in something and the unexpected happens, you remain quiet. I have been introspective.

“But on the state of the nation go and ask the people on the street. In fact, you don’t have to go far ask yourself about the state of the nation.
“Nigeria is in Intensive Care Unit. It needs urgent resuscitation. We all have that responsibility irrespective of party, religious or ethnic affiliation to rescue the country.
“We need to do a soul searching. Let’s speak to our humanity. We are all human. We need compassion.”
The former Speaker urged the media to always tell the leaders the true situation of the country.

“Nigeria needs you most at this trying moment. You are not really doing enough. You have more than enough space to x-ray the country in defence of public and national interest. You are watch dogs and voice of the voiceless. You need to hold and make the system drivers accountable.

“Journalism is service to humanity in the interest of the nation. Nigeria needs everyone of us as driver. The country is in ICU for resuscitation.
