An explosion has occurred last night at the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos, Daily Trust reports.
The gas explosion was said to have occurred at Oguns street around 9.30pm.
A yet to be ascertained number of people were said to have been injured as a result of the explosion that rocked the entire area.
Properties worth millions were also destroyed by the inferno that followed the explosion.

The incident created heavy panic as resident of the area scampered to safety.
Ibrahim Farinloye, Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who confirmed the incident, however, urged people around Iju Ishaga to calm down and avoid panic.
Farinloye said the situation had been brought under control by officials of the Lagos State Fire Service.
“It was reported that a store with cooking gas cylinder exploded. It occurred during the restoration of electricity to the area” he said.
