Borno State governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, on Monday, distributed food items worth N225 million to over 70,000 vulnerable families in Bama LGA of the state.
The food items were distributed when the governor visited the area to engage security operatives on the best way to improve peace in the area.
He said the distribution of the foodstuffs and cash was to assist communities affected by insurgents and prevent victims from being recruited by Boko Haram terrorists.
“This is in continuation of our efforts to provide assistance to the less privileged in Bama that were severely affected by Boko Haram violence and limited livelihood,” Zulum said.
