Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, has said that in less than two years the birthrate in the state has increased from 200 to 1,600 per month.
Soludo disclosed this at the 65th birthday ceremony of Sir Emeka Offor in Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.
The governor said when he assumed office as the governor “the total birth rate per month was 200, but today it has gone up to 1,600 birth rate with zero mortality.”
He said this was due to the investment the state government had made in the health sector.
