DPO chairs committee on farmers, herders’ crisis

A divisional police officer has been appointed to head the committee for the resolution of the farmers/herders’ crisis in Kuje, FCT.

The Commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC) representing the FCT, Hon Ezekiel Musa Dalhatu, set up the committee on Thursday when he met with Fulani chiefs, village heads, chief of farmers and community leaders on Saturday.

The divisional police officer for Gudun-Karya divisional headquarters in Kuje Area Council is to head the 11-member committee.

The commissioner said he decided to set up the committee after mediating with both leaders of farmers and herders in the area, noting that the intervention of the commission will bring lasting peace between farmers and herders in the area.
