The chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Chief Tunde Akindehin, has said that the leadership will ensure that peace and unity returned permanently to the party.

Speaking with journalists while resuming office with his team in Ilorin yesterday, the party leader said that the past impunity and cleavages were gone for good.

The caretaker committee chairman, who said that PDP is a changed party, added that the party had returned with a lot of activities and innovations.

He said, “Nigerians should have confidence in the ability to now bring a robust, civilized political activity to the state.

“We will ensure that everybody is carried along in the decision making of the party and that recruitment of members is transparent.

“We don’t know how the Nigerian ship is being wreaked. And for those who are conscious of the future of our children, we must wake up from our slumber to enthrone good governance and democracy. The PDP will not be short of that, we promise you,” Chief Akindehin said.
