Nwabali has always been on Super Eagles radar – Dikko

A former chairman of the defunct League Management Company (LMC) Shehu Dikko has revealed that Super Eagles number one goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has always been on the radar of the national team.

He made this known via his verified X handle (formerly known as Twitter) saying he has always been a very good keeper as he even made the NPFL Allstar team in 2022.

“Nwabali has always been on the Radar of the National team. I recalled in June 2019 during the NPFL Super Six in Lagos and he was on the books of Enyimba FC, we invited Gernot Rohr to watch him as potential successor/competitor to Uzoho.

“Unfortunately, his club GM went to inform him that Rohr was around to check on him thinking he is helping him but that made him so jittery being a young keeper just getting into the groove but he has always been a very good keeper as he even made the NPFL Allstar team in 2022 for the Budweiser match with John Terry and Roberto Carlos and the home-based Super Eagles match with Mexico in USA.

“Anyway, God’s time is always the best and he has once again proved the talent available in the domestic game,” he stated.

He further said Nwabali is a destiny child who was poised for greatness.

“May God bless Mr. Jude Anyadufu, the Sporting Director of Enyimba FC. Nwabali was relegated from the NPFL with Go-Round FC of Port-Harcourt in 2018.

“But Mr. Jude saw he is something special in the games he kept for Go Round FC and so didn’t allow him to go down and signed up for Enyimba FC to start as 3rd choice keeper behind Leke and Fatahu Dauda (a Ghana International Goalkeeper)… the rest they say is history!!,” concluded.
