City & Crime recalls that during the first arraignment, Hafsat pleaded not guilty to the charges after initially confessing to the police that she singlehandedly stabbed Nafiu severally when he tried to stop her from committing suicide.

Her re-arraignment was slated for Tuesday, February 6, at the high court but was stalled as the prosecution counsel substituted the first charge sheet with another one.

The prosecution counsels, led by Aisha Mahmud, moved an application for substitution of the charge with another one as she stated that the first charge did not include a  fourth defendant, Malam Nasidi Muhammad.

The defense team then applied for an adjournment for the re-arraignment to another day to enable them study the new charge.

Justice Zuwaira Yusuf granted the application and adjourned the case to Thursday, February 8.
