Barely a week after a commercial motorcyclist disappeared with a bag of maize flour in Abaji Area Council of the FCT, a wheelbarrow pusher has also escaped with half bag of rice belonging to a woman in Kwali Area Council.
The victim, Mrs Talatu Yakubu, who narrated the incident to sympathisers at the Kwali Market on Monday, said she engaged the wheelbarrow pusher to convey the rice with soup items to the roadside.
She said she came to the market and bought 30 measures of rice and a bag of Semovita and soup ingredients ahead of her daughter’s wedding on Friday in Sheda village.
She said she was buying pepper and tomatoes close to the market’s gate when the wheelbarrow pusher disappeared.

Our reporter gathered that there was no week that passed without reports of either an Okada man or a wheelbarrow pusher escaping with people’s foodstuff in Kwali and Abaji markets.
It was further learnt that a wheelbarrow pusher was beaten to stupor after he allegedly attempted to escape with a woman’s foodstuffs at the Kwali market last week.
