The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has vowed to prosecute individuals who colluded with the former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barr. Hudu Ari, during the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Speaking at the Government House Conference Hall on Monday, Fintiri commended INEC for remaining impartial despite the REC’s “irresponsible and unlawful” conduct.
Fintiri said that legal action is necessary to protect the electoral process and democratic culture from abuse, and expressed gratitude to the justices who rendered a fair and just judgments that resonated with the people of Adamawa State.
He also praised the legal team led by D.M Dogo (SAN), M.A Mahmood (SAN), and other counsel who played a crucial role.

Fintiri also urged all citizens of Adamawa to set aside their grudges and work towards a better society.
He acknowledged that false hopes and deception had caused damage to supporters and the bond and unity of the people, stressing that there is a limit to what falsehood can accomplish.
“The task ahead is enormous, requiring unity of purpose, the pulling of resources, integration of talent, and leveraging the unique attributes of each person to create a better society for the people,” he said.
The governor said he is committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process, adding that his call for unity and progress demonstrate his dedication to the welfare and progress of the people of Adamawa State.
