Vatsa foundation empowers 10,000 groups

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mamman Vatsa Foundation (MVF), Hajiya Hadiza Mamman Vatsa, has said that over 10,000 vulnerable groups have been empowered across the 36 states and the FCT since the establishment of the foundation in 2010.

Hajiya Zainab, while speaking with newsmen during her visit to the National Hospital, Abuja, over the weekend where she donated baby items and cash to Mrs Ayuba John who delivered sextuplets, she said apart from empowering women, including widows of military officers who died in active service in Borno and Yobe states, with sewing and grinding machines, hairdressing machines, the foundation also gave out cash.

She further said, “Aside that, the foundation has been able to visit many Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), especially in the far North of Borno and Yobe states, where we donated foodstuffs and cash to both women and men that were displaced by Boko Haram.

She assured that the foundation would continue to partner with the government and other stakeholders in order to address the challenges of widows, orphans and other vulnerable groups across the country.
