Sanusi, Sanwo-Olu laud NPA/ GTCO Lagos polo tourney

The 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the and other royalties have lauded the 2024 NPA/GTCO Lagos International Polo Tournament as one of the most prestigious polo events in the world going by the record number of entries, quality of play and participation by world high ranking professionals.

Governor Sanwo-Olu who was a Special Guest during the finals of the first week of the prestigious festival also singled out the organizers and host, the Lagos Polo Club for its unalloyed commitment to the noble game of polo that has positively impacted the promotion of the game around the country.

Polo Royals reports that the 14th Emir of Kano, HRH Sanusi Lamido thumped-up the Lagos Polo Club for sustaining the game of polo for over a century now. The royal father who congratulated the club for hosting the 120th edition of the tournament that is revered as the biggest polo festival in Africa, described the annual event as a ribbon event for tourism.

Sanusi who was a Special Guest alongside White Cap Chiefs of the Oba of Lagos Palace during the Oba of Lagos Cup final was part of the discerning crowd that cheered on as Kaduna Sublime Dangote team emerged winners of the highly revered Oba of Lagos Cup, defeating arch rivals, Shoreline polo team from Lagos.

The opening week of the 120th edition of the NPA/GTCO Lagos International Polo Tournament came to a befitting climax with Lagos Trojan Ark, STL and Kaduna Sublime Dangote teams sharing the top prizes.
