The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 198 suspects.
The spokesman of the command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, said the arrests followed the command’s relentless efforts in combating drug trafficking.
He explained that during the course of “Operation Hana Maye” that was launched on January 17, 2024, the Kano command apprehended 198 suspects involved in various drug-related activities.
He said that among the arrests were 61 suspects, including 15 females, apprehended in a club that had been transformed into an illicit drug joint.

He further said, “Additionally, command arrested 42 suspects in the Dan Agundi Graveyard which has been identified as another location utilised for drug-related activities. The operation also dismantled drug joints in Sheka Graveyard and Sheka Obajana.
“The command also recovered a substantial amount of illicit substances.”
“Furthermore, the command dislodged 21 drug joints during the course of the operation. These drug joints served as hubs for drug trafficking and consumption, posing a threat to the safety and wellbeing of the community.”
