Alhabibiyyah trains 200 Sokoto, Kebbi youths on digital skills

Two hundred youths from Sokoto and Kebbi States have been trained on digital skills by the Alhabibiyyah Islamic Society during a three-day session in Sokoto with the theme: “Promoting Digitally Skilled Youths For Corrupt Free Society”.

Speaking during the closing ceremony at the weekend, the Chief Imam of Alhabibiyyah Islamic Society, Fuad Adeyemi, said the training aimed to disabuse the minds of youths against fraudulent activities.

He said, “We don’t want them to take the path of those Yahoo-Yahoo boys who have been using their phones and other gadgets to defraud people.

“So, the training is to bring about attitudinal change in the way our children handle phones.”

Represented by the Project Coordinator, Hajiya Rekiya Momoh-Abaji, Imam Adeyemi noted that, “We trained the participants on how to use their phones to get decent money.”

Also speaking, Dr Muhammad Gulam commended Alhabibiyyah for organising the programme, which he said would equip “our younger ones” with the required digital skills to promote their businesses and religion.

A renowned activist in Sokoto State, Nura Attajiri, noted that the training was capable of inculcating the spirit of patriotism in youths, adding that kidnapping and banditry were manifestations of corruption.
