The governor of Kebbi State, Nasri Idris, on Thursday inaugurated a 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital in Tsamiya, Bagudu Local Government Area, Kebbi.
The hospital was built by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), according to a statement from the office.
The statement quoted Governor Idris as commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to the health sector through several initiatives and, most especially, the input of the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals.
He said the project was apt as it would drastically reduce child and maternal mortality within the council and, by extension, the neighbouring country, Benin Republic.
