Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) has sealed a tyre recycling company in Obafemi Owode LGA of Ogun State over environmental infraction.
The Senior Special Adviser to the state Governor on Environment, Farouk Akintunde, who gave the order during an enforcement tour by the Agency, said the company was found culpable of operating without adhering to environmental regulations, thereby endangering the lives of people, urging companies to obey environmental laws of the state.
“Following a tip-off from the residents of the community that the company emits carbon-monoxide which is hazardous to health, prompted immediate action by the agency to embark on the tour and shut down the company”.

“Lives of your host community should be a major priority to you; desist from practices that can be injurious to people’s health and or affect businesses, as the present administration will not take it easy with any environmental law defaulter,” he said.
