The 2019 AFCON winners fell to a 37th minute strike from Yali Dellahi who converted a half-chance into his path following a corner kick.
The North African side could not find a way back into the match as they suffered a shocking exit from Ivory Coast.
The two-time AFCON winners finished bottom of Group D with just tow points from three matches.

They also failed to win a match in the tournament.
The Mauritanians, on the other hand, finish in third place with three points.
The however have a chance to qualify for the round of 16 as one of four third-placed best losers.
In the other group’s matches, Angola defeated Burkina Faso 2-0 to finish as group winners with seven points, while Burkina Faso are runners-up with four points.
