China to host African envoys

The China-Africa Institute (CAI) will host African ambassadors at the Chinese Archeological Museum on Jan. 25 in Beijing, China.

An Ni, CAI spokesperson, in a statement on Sunday, said the event was intended to promote China-Africa relations.

“CAI is currently organising an event at the Chinese Archaeological Museum in Beijing on Jan. 25.

“Ambassadors of African countries have been invited to visit the Museum and meet with Prof. Gao Xiang, President, Minister Level of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), concurrently serving as the President of the Chinese Academy of History (CAH).

“To converse about the mutual appreciation of civilisations between China and Africa; the Chinese Archaeological Museum is the first national-level professional museum in China established by CAH.

“On June 2, 2023, Chinese President, Xi Jinping, toured the Museum and emphasized the important role of archaeology in understanding the long history of Chinese civilisation and appreciating the richness, and profoundness of Chinese culture,’’ the spokesperson said.

According to Ni, China and African countries enjoy time-honoured friendship and main long-lasting exchanges between civilisations. (NAN)
